Stress, Sleep & Nervous System
Many patients come to us carrying a nervous system that has been running hot for years. Acupuncture, manual therapy, and targeted clinical nutrition can help settle it, and we are careful to work alongside your primary physician or mental health provider rather than instead of them.
What we treat
- Chronic Stress & Anxiety
- Insomnia & Sleep Disturbances
- Fatigue & Burnout
- Peripheral Neuropathy
- Bell's Palsy
What the evidence shows
A 2023 systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized trials found moderate-quality evidence that electroacupuncture reduces Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale scores. A 2025 systematic review with meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis found that acupuncture significantly improved self-reported sleep quality in chronic insomnia disorder compared with sham acupuncture, though objective sleep measures were less consistent and the authors called for larger trials.
The evidence is weaker for the neurological conditions on this list, and we want to be straightforward about that. A 2022 review found acupuncture did not significantly outperform placebo acupuncture for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, and the Cochrane review of acupuncture for Bell's palsy concluded that the quality of the available trials was too poor to support a conclusion either way. We offer these treatments as an adjunct to appropriate neurological and mental health care, never as a replacement for it.
