Acupuncturist in Mineola, NY

At The Point Chiropractic and Acupuncture P.C., acupuncture is a core part of how we help patients in Mineola and across Nassau County feel better — naturally and without medication. Our acupuncture care is led by Dr. Yang Wei, DC, LAc, a New York State–licensed and board-certified acupuncturist who blends Traditional Chinese Medicine with a modern clinical approach.

What acupuncture can help with

Acupuncture is a time-tested therapy that may help with a wide range of concerns, including back, neck, and joint pain; headaches and migraines; sciatica and nerve pain; stress, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping; digestive issues; women’s health and fertility support; menstrual and hormonal concerns; and post-surgical recovery and general wellness. Because everyone is different, Dr. Wei tailors each treatment to your body and your goals.

What a visit looks like

Your first acupuncture visit begins with a thorough consultation. Dr. Wei reviews your health history, your symptoms, and your goals, then designs a treatment plan built around you. During treatment, very fine, sterile, single-use needles are placed at specific points to support your body’s natural balance and healing response. Most patients find the experience deeply relaxing — many even fall asleep. Dr. Wei checks your response using palpation and range-of-motion markers before and after each session.

Our approach and modalities

Beyond traditional needle acupuncture, Dr. Wei offers a full range of Traditional Chinese Medicine therapies: cupping to release muscle tension and improve circulation; gua sha to ease pain and inflammation; moxibustion, a gentle warming therapy paired with acupuncture; and auricular (ear) acupuncture, including ear seeds you can wear between visits. Herbal and nutritional guidance is available when appropriate. (Tongue and pulse diagnosis are offered on request or when clinically helpful.)

Why patients choose The Point

Dr. Wei is a rare dual-licensed provider — both a licensed acupuncturist and a licensed chiropractor — so she can integrate both when it benefits you. We focus on personalized, root-cause care, in a calm, welcoming Mineola clinic with wheelchair access and parking.

HSA/FSA accepted; superbills provided on request.

FAQs

Does acupuncture hurt? Most people feel little to nothing — the needles are far thinner than those used for shots or blood draws, and many patients find sessions relaxing.

How many sessions will I need? It depends on your condition and goals; Dr. Wei will recommend a plan and adjust it based on your progress.

Is it safe? Yes. We use sterile, single-use needles, and Dr. Wei is fully licensed and board-certified.

Do you take insurance? In-network with Northwell Direct for chiropractic and acupuncture. We are applying for in-network status with Aetna, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, and Cigna — expected spring 2027. Many plans include out-of-network benefits for chiropractic and acupuncture; we provide an itemized superbill after each visit for reimbursement. Self-pay is always welcome.
